Above is a form to donate to Community Voice Channel's first ever appeal for financial support. Over the years CVC has been able to focus on our mission without needing to reach out directly to the community for operating funds, and we were proud that any donations previously raised went directly to equipment. Currently CVC's main funding is from a ~$1 a month fee on subscribers for cable only; this does not include internet subscribers. Over the past 5+ years we have asked and lobbied along with other public access stations to fix our funding apparatus to include the internet subscribers. Unfortunately, the state has kicked it down the road by turning bills into studies and outright denying voting due to election years. Although we continue to fight to fix this, our situation has become dire and we now need direct financial support. CVC has already cut everything possible to reduce our overhead including making the hard decision to cut our staff to the bare minimum needed to function. I understand the goal of this campaign looks large, and it is, but with the rising costs of utilities, supplies, the bare essentials needed to run CVC, and the fact that our funding has been cut by a third and dropping everyday, this is what we hope to raise.
