Community Outreach

CVC's Community Outreach & Media Services

The Community Voice Channel provides services to community-based non-profit
organizations--Such as community, cultural, arts, labor, social justice and other
organizations. By making their own media these community groups increase their
outreach, create community dialogue, and promote social justice or local cultural
expressions. CVC's mission is to foster a media literate society, and to build a media
infrastructure to serve the needs of all our seven town's residents and non-profit
community organizations. We offer groups media planning consultations, access to
field and studio equipment and free training.

All of our equipment and resources are available to your organization free of charge!

Free Training

If you are an Andover, Bolton, Ellington, Hebron, Marlborough, Tolland or Vernon
based not-for-profit organization your members can receive free TV-making training,
so your organization can communicate with your members or reach a broader public.

Airing Pre-Produced Programs

Your organization can send us a completed video program and/or a short Public Service
Announcement and we will air it on our channels.

Training & Resources

Television Studios

Ideal for talk shows, live call-in shows, drama, cultural, musical and other live
performances. It requires a trained crew of four or more people to operate.
Studios are located at 105 Notch Road in Bolton. All our studios are equipped
with the tools you need to make professional studio-television programs including
titling equipment, tape deck to "roll-in" previously recorded footage, and telephones
for live "call-in" from the public.

Camcorders

Ideal for making shows on location around your town. We offer regular workshops
on how to use camecorders and other location equipment--such as microphones
and lights. Once trained, memebers of the public may borrow camcorders free of
charge to create programs for CVC.

Video Editing

We offer computer editing classes in Apple based iMovie and Final Cut Studio software.
